We at M·A·C Cosmetics NA respect your privacy and value the relationship we have with you. Your visit to this website is subject to this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.

This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect on the M·A·C Cosmetics NA website (“Site”) and in connection with the M·A·C PRO program (“Program”), how we may use that information and with whom we may share it. Our Privacy Policy also describes the measures we take to protect the security of this information as well as how you can access, modify or delete your personal information.

Please note that this Privacy Policy governs only personal information collected, used or disclosed on the Site and/or to M·A·C PRO. It does not govern any other information or communications that may reference M·A·C Cosmetics, e.g., communications from freestanding M·A·C Cosmetics stores (other than a M·A·C PRO application that you may submit at a M·A·C Cosmetics store), retailers or M·A·C Cosmetics counters. Information We Collect and How We Use It

You may choose to provide us with personal information when you visit our Site. For example, if you decide to complete a user registration form or complete an online survey, or make a purchase, you may be asked to provide certain information such as your contact information (name, email address, mailing address, and telephone number) and optional information such as your age group, gender and product and/or cosmetic concerns, and the brands and products you use. We use this information to provide the service you requested. If you decide to place an order, we will also need to know your delivery and billing address, credit card number and expiration date. To help protect your personal information, users registering at the Site must also enter a use name/email address and password. We may also invite you to provide information about your skincare concerns to enable us to provide you with customized service.

The M·A·C PRO Program
The Program is designed for makeup artists/professional who may apply to become a member. Program members enjoy access to M·A·C Cosmetics product discounts, seasonal trend report, master classes, preview nights and special professional events.

In order to participate in and enjoy the benefits of Program membership, you will need to provide your name, home and/or business address and phone number(s). We collect your email address if you elect to provide it. In addition, as part of the Program application process, you will be asked to provide information designed to verify your entitlement as a “professional” to participate in this unique Program.

As a Program member, you will be issued a M·A·C PRO Membership number that you may use to access the M·A·C PRO segment of the Site. For your security and protection, when you visit the M·A·C PRO segment, you will be asked to provide your M·A·C PRO Membership number and certain additional information such as your contact information ( e.g., last name, email address, mailing address, and telephone number) for verification purposes. To protect your personal information, Program members registering at the Site must also create a password. If you decide to place an order or renew your membership online, you will also need to provide credit card information such as credit card number and expiration date, as well as delivery and billing address. We will store this credit card information for future renewals if you elect to sign up for automatic renewal of your Program membership.


Use of Personal Information by M·A·C Cosmetics NA

Marketing Communications
With your consent, the information you provide may be used by M·A·C Cosmetics NA to create and deliver to you emails such as our newsletters, surveys or other email messages containing product and event information, cosmetics tips or promotions or to phone you. If you do consent to receive these communications and later decide that you would no longer like to receive them, see the " Your Choices" Section You may receive the benefit of hearing from M·A·C Cosmetics NA via direct mail even if you have not elected to receive other marketing communications. If you do not wish to receive direct mail, see " Your Choices” Section

The M·A·C PRO Program
As part of M·A·C PRO membership, you will receive communications from M·A·C Cosmetics NA about promotions, events, products and services.

Text Messages
If you so elect, you may provide your mobile phone number in order to receive text message alerts containing product and event information, cosmetics tips or promotions that may be sent using automated dialing systems (“Text Messages”), and your election to receive Text Messages is not otherwise required to purchase any goods or services from us. There is no fee from M·A·C Cosmetics to receive Text Messages, however, your mobile service provider may charge you for sending and/or receiving text messages and air-time, as well as any other standard applicable rates charged by your mobile service provider. Participating Carriers are:

Communications to Serve You
If you have elected to provide us with your contact information, we may provide you with service related announcements by any means, including email, concerning the Site or contact you regarding your customer service requests or questions or your order. For example, all registered users will receive a welcoming email to confirm their registration. When you email our customer service department with a comment or question, we collect the personally identifiable information you provide us, such as your name, email address, contact information and any information relating to your comment or question, and may forward such information, along with your inquiry, to our affiliates in the United States in order to investigate and respond to your inquiry. These types of communications are necessary to serve you, respond to your concerns and to provide the high level of customer service that M·A·C Cosmetics NA offers its customers.

The M·A·C PRO Program
Please note that each M·A·C PRO member must consent to receive M·A·C PRO communications by postal mail. You may choose not to receive a M·A·C PRO communications via email but this may limit our ability to provide you with the full range of Program services and events from which you might otherwise benefit.

M·A·C PRO may also use your personal information to respond to your requests and inquiries and provide you with information related to your membership; e.g., to confirm receipt of your application form, to provide you with information about your membership such as benefits and expiration, to address an issue with your membership or to respond to product questions or concerns expressed on “Email an Artist”and “Member Voice”. These types of communications are necessary to serve you, respond to your concerns and to provide the high level of services that the Program offers to its members.

Customized Service
We may also offer features on our Site that invite you to provide information about your skin type and skincare concerns or preferences. We use this information to provide you with customized service and use of our Site. For example, we may suggest products that would be of particular interest to you.

Special Events, Questionnaires and Surveys
On occasion, M·A·C Cosmetics NA and M·A·C PRO may sponsor special events (such as contests, promotions or other offerings), questionnaires and surveys. When you enter a contest or participate in a promotion, we may collect your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. We use this information to administer your participation in the contest or promotion. There may be specific rules applicable to these promotions that explain how any personal information you provide will be processed. We strongly suggest you review any applicable rules before participating. To the extent any special event, questionnaire or survey is not subject to specific rules, the processing of personal information is governed by this Privacy Policy and the purposes it sets forth.

Employment
If you provide personal information to us with respect to employment, such as your resume, we will treat such personal information as confidential and use it only to consider you for current and future employment opportunities and to contact you with respect to employments with us or our affiliated companies. We will retain your personal information for further recruitment opportunities that may arise, unless you tell us that you no longer wish for us to retain your information.


Technologies That Allow Us To Customize Your Experience On Our Site

We use various technologies to collect information (such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request) about your visit to our Site and to enhance and customize your experience on our Site. For example, we may collect the Internet Protocol (IP) address identifying your computer or device and indicating your geographic region for statistical purposes. Web Beacons and Tracking Links
Web beacons (also called clear gifs and pixel tags), tracking links and/or similar technology consist of a few lines of code and are embedded on the pages of our Site. Coremetrics
We are continuously working to make your experience on our Site better. To this end, we have retained a company, Coremetrics, to assist us in better understanding your use of our Site. Coremetrics will place cookies on your computer to collect information on our behalf that will show us how you come to our Site and how you use and navigate our Site. Coremetrics does not collect any personal information about you. Coremetrics is contractually prohibited from using the data for any other purpose. California Do Not Track Notice

Under California law, website and online service operators are required to disclose how they respond to web browser “do not track” signals or other similar mechanisms that provide consumers the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of personal information about a consumer’s online activities over time and across third party websites, to the extent the operator engages in that collection. At this time, we do not track our customers’ personal information over time and across third-party websites and therefore this requirement does not apply to us.

California law also requires website and online service operators to disclose whether third parties may collect personal information about their users’ online activities over time and across different sites when the users use the operator’s website or service. Third parties that have content or services on our site such as a social feature, analytics service, or an advertising network partner, may obtain information about your browsing or usage habits but this information does not include personal information. We do not knowingly permit such third parties to collect any personal information from our site unless you directly provide it to us and we provide it to them with your consent.


Information We Share and With Whom We Share It

We will not provide your personal information to third parties for their use in marketing their products or services to you without your consent except as provided in the Business Transfers Section. In addition, we do not sell or otherwise disclose personal information about our Site visitors except as described here.

Group Companies
When you submit personally identifiable information on this Site, the information you provide may be shared with our affiliates and other divisions of M·A·C Cosmetics NA that distribute and market M·A·C Cosmetics products (the “Group Companies”). Group Companies may use this information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Group Companies may be located both inside and outside of the United States ( “US”), Canada, and the European Union ( “EU”).

Third Parties
We may retain other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf consistent with this Privacy Policy. Examples include data analysis firms, customer support specialists, email vendors, webhosting companies and fulfillment companies ( e.g., companies that coordinate mailings). Such third parties may be provided with access to personal information needed to perform their functions but may not use or disclose such information other than on our behalf and in accordance with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.

In addition, in some instances, you may be offered the opportunity to consent to the sharing of your information with a third party such as an event or promotion co-sponsor. If you consent, we will share your information with such third party and the information you provide may be used by such third party for their own purposes and in accordance with their own policies.

Business Transfers

M·A·C Cosmetics NA and Group Companies, our affiliated companies and third parties who may receive your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the databases in which your personal information is stored shall be located in the United States as well as in Canada and other countries which may not guarantee the same level of protection for personal information as the one in which you reside. All Group Companies, our affiliated companies and third parties that receive your personal information are required to honor the privacy representations made in this Privacy Policy, regardless of where they are located. Children Under 13


If you are under thirteen years of age, you may browse our Site. However, you may not provide personal information to us. For example, you cannot register or make a purchase. This Site is not designed for persons under the age of thirteen and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of thirteen. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a visitor under the age of thirteen on the Site, we will delete the information from our records.
