The Estée Lauder Companies acquired a majority interest in M·A·C in 1994 and full ownership in 1998. M·A·C is sold in more than 79 countries and territories. The brand’s popularity has grown through a tradition of word-of-mouth endorsement from makeup artists, models, photographers and journalists around the world. M·A·C is for All Ages, All Races, All Sexes. M·A·C is known as the color authority that provides products for the professional makeup artist and consumers alike, including an extensive range of color cosmetics, lashes, brushes, skin care, foundations and accessories.

At M·A·C, there are several different types of job opportunities from corporate opportunities to being a M·A·C make-up artist in one of our stores. More information about all of these job opportunities is below.

I want to be a M·A·C Makeup Artist! How do I get started?

For a Makeup Artist position within a department store that carries M·A·C Cosmetics, please enquire with the Human Resources Director of the store and indicate your preference to work at the M·A·C counter.

I am working as a professional Makeup Artist. I would like to become a M·A·C Senior Artist or part of the M·A·C Pro Team. Who should I contact?

M·A·C Senior Artists are individuals whose knowledge and expertise meet the highest standards of professionalism at M·A·C. Our Senior Artists are based in markets around the world, and their job requires them to travel and work on events worldwide. Hiring for these individuals takes place within the market where the posting is open. Interviews for the position would include demonstration of makeup and communication abilities as well as personal portfolio and a video reel. Although we appreciate your interest, our company does not sponsor or provide programs for modeling. For our campaign work, we work through agencies (most often in the New York area) and our in-store events are coordinated by local retail management.
