The Estée Lauder Companies acquired a majority interest in M·A·C in 1994 and full ownership in 1998. M·A·C is sold in more than 70 countries and territories. The brand’s popularity has grown through a tradition of word-of-mouth endorsement from makeup artists, models, photographers and journalists around the world. M·A·C is for All Ages, All Races, All Sexes. M·A·C is known as the color authority that provides products for the professional makeup artist and consumers alike, including an extensive range of color cosmetics, lashes, brushes, skin care, foundations and accessories.

I want to be a M·A·C makeup artist! How do I get started?

Thank you for your interest in M·A·C. We are always in search of bright, energetic individuals to represent us. While M·A·C does offer advanced classes for professional artists in select cities in North America, we do not have anything of this sort for aspiring artists just starting out.

For a Makeup Artist position within a Department or Specialty store that carries M·A·C cosmetics, please inquire with the Human Resources Director of the store and indicate your preference to work at the M·A·C counter.

For a Makeup Artist position in a M·A·C store, please inquire with the Store Manager directly. You can locate an address and phone number for the counters and stores in your area by entering your location in the left navigation.
I am working as a professional Makeup Artist. I would like to become a M·A·C Senior Artist or part of the M·A·C Pro Team. Who should I contact?

We appreciate your interest in M·A·C and thank you for submitting your question. M·A·C Senior Artists are individuals whose knowledge and expertise meet the highest standards of professionalism at M·A·C. Our Senior Artists are based in several major markets around the world, and their job requires them to travel and work on events worldwide. Hiring for these individuals takes place within the market where the posting is open. Interviews for the position would include demonstration of makeup and communication abilities as well as examples of personal portfolios and a video reel. I am interested in modeling for M·A·C. Are you hiring?

Although we appreciate your interest and enthusiasm, our company does not sponsor or provide programs for modeling. We don't use many models because we don't advertise much. For our limited print work, we work through agencies (most often in the New York area) and our in-store events are coordinated by local retail management.
