From an editorial teardrop shape to a subtle smattering of shimmer under the eyes, Glitter Tears have come to define a range of famous TV and film characters. Before they hit the big screen, the glitter makeup trend originated in Korea, where young people found that accenting the fatty deposit under the eyes, called the “aegyo sal,” made for a more youthful, innocent look.
Like many Korean beauty trends, undereye glitter has now gone global. From the runway to the red carpet, we’re seeing people dress their undereyes in shimmery, light-reflecting silvers and pinks. It has more emotion.”

HOW TO GET THE TREND
LOOK 1: Glisten and shine with this glitter makeup look that uses glitter eye shadow to create glamorous tears.
